Catherine M. Boyle passed away on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 2, 2008 at her residence in Osprey Village, Amelia Island, FL.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Boyle had resided on Long Island, N.Y., for over 50 years, living in the same house, with her husband of 56 years. Most recently, she had resided near her daughter on Amelia Island, FL.
Mrs. Boyle was a former member of the Red Hat Society and the Rosary Society at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Westbury, N.Y. She was a volunteer at the local hospital in East Meadow and Rockville Centre, the St. Luke's Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay, and for the past three years, had worked with her daughter and "Joy to the Children" providing gifts and meals to needy children and families in Nassau County.
Preceding her in death, is her husband of 56 years, John F. "Jack" Boyle, her parents, Richard P. and Sarah F. McConnell, and a sister, Margaret McConnell, who passed away in 2007.
She leaves behind, four daughters, a son, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren,
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Westbury, N.Y.
Mrs. Boyle will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, N.Y.
The vigil service will be held on Thursday evening at the O'Shea Funeral Home, North Jerusalem, East Meadow, N.Y.
