"The LaFayette (AL) Sun" - March 24, 1915:

Mrs. Susie Strickland.

Last Thursday night Mr. Jessie Fuller received the sad intelligence of the death of his sister, Mrs. Susie Strickland, which occurred at the home of her son, Mr. Howard Strickland, at LaGrange, Ga., about 7:00 o’clock. For years Mrs. Strickland had been quite frail and her death, while not unexpected, was a shock to her brother in his feeble
health. She was born, reared and married her first husband, Mr. Eugene Allen, at Fredonia, at which place, as well as throughout the county, she has numbers of relatives and close friends, to whom she was endeared by her many noble characteristics of mind and heart. She was a consecrated member of the Methodist Church. After her marriage to Mr. Strickland she lived at LaGrange. Besides her brother, Mr. Jessie Fuller, who is the only survivor of a family of nine children, she leaves to mourn her loss six children, Dr. Eugene Allen of Glenn, Messrs. Perry Strickland of Stone Mountain, Jessie Strickland of Glenn, Howard Strickland of LaGrange, and Mrs. Exa Bullon of LaGrange, and Mrs. Carl Dasher of Thomasville, all of whom have the deep sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
