Dies In Rochester
HARTLAND, March 24 —George Chapman Sr., 85, former owner of several boats used for shipping on the Erie Canal, died this morning at Genesee Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a lingering illness. He was born in the house where he lived on Chapman Road. Since retiring from the boating business, he was engaged in farming.
Surviving are his wife, Rosie; three daughters, Mrs. Roy
Luckman, Gasport; Mrs. Merle Weninger, Syracuse; Mrs. Roger Halght, Barker and two sons, Dr. Milton Chapman, Rochester and George Jr., at home.
Services will be held Wednesday at 3 o'clock at the home, the Rev. Erford W. Daniels, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
