                     Cupid Conquers.

Judge W. A. Fleming leaves on to-night's passenger train for Peoria, Ill., where he gives his hand in marriage to Miss Florence Foster, of that city, a beautiful and accomplished lady, who is well known in Brainerd's society circles. The wedding will occur on Sunday, Sept. 16th, at the residence of the bride's parents, and the happy couple will be at home to their friends in Brainerd on and after Tuesday, Sept. 25th, at their home on Fifth street north, which the happy groom has had all prepared to begin housekeeping in. The DISPATCH, in company with hosts of friends, take great pleasure in wishing them much happiness in their new relation.
The groom, Judge Fleming, one of the foremost of Brainerd's citizens, has been a resident of this city for the past five years, during which time he has been engaged in practicing law, his chosen profession, until a year ago last spring, when he was unanimously elected municipal judge, which he now occupies. Mr. Fleming is a man of sterling qualities, and as a lawyer ranks among the first in Northern Minnesota. He has long been considered as a confirmed bachelor, but recently it has become evident that his supposed impregnable position as such was being assailed, and the result, as might have been expected, is a complete surrender on his part.
The bride, although not a resident of this city, is equally well known, and is loved and respected by all who know her. She taught two years in the public school in this city, during which time she won for herself, by her winning ways and grace of mind, a warm place in the hearts of our people. That life may be one long happy dream to them is the wish of hosts of friends. (Brainerd Dispatch, 14 September 1888, p. 4, c. 4)

Mrs. W. A. Fleming, Mrs. A. V. Snyder and Mrs. J. R. Westfall will entertain their lady friends on Tuesday, April 18th, from 3 until 6 p. m., at the residence of Mrs. Fleming on Fifth street north. Invitations have been issued. (Brainerd Dispatch, 14 April 1899, p. 8, c. 1)

Mrs. W. A. Fleming, Mrs. A. V. Snyder and Mrs. J. R. Westfall entertained a large party of ladies on Tuesday at an afternoon "coffee" at the home of Mrs. Fleming on Fifth street north. About seventy-five ladies were present. The rooms were beautifully decorated with cut flowers and plants. An elaborate luncheon was served. (Brainerd Dispatch, 21 April 1899, p. 8, c. 1)
