Democrat Congressman and two-term Governor of Kentucky. He served his first term as Governor from 1875-1879. He served in the House of Representatives from 1885-1897 and in the US Senate from 1903-1909. After leaving the Senate he was reelected Governor of Kentucky in 1912 and served until 1916.
