U.S. Congresswoman. She graduated with a Ph.B., from the University of Chicago, in 1919 and authored several books. In 1945, he was elected as a Democrat to the Seventy-ninth Congress, serving until 1947. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, she was the United States Representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, in 1950. She was also married to U.S. Senator Paul Douglas from 1931 until his death in 1976.
