Karen was very athletic. She loved bike-riding, swimming, concerts, movies and stage shows. She also enjoyed cooking and reading. She graduated from Nazareth College in Rochester with a BA and a BS in Graphic Arts. She was employed with a firm in Florida. She had many friends. Karen came home one evening after having had dinner with a friend. George Lewis was waiting for her in the dark. She was tortured, stabbed 21 times, raped and left to die. Six neighbors heard her scream, but no one called the police. In fact, her body was found two days later. George Lewis was convicted and sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
