JAMES EDWARD CHERRILL
Funeral services for James Edward Cherrill, Denver rancher and investor, will be at noon Saturday in Olinger Mortuary, Magnolia St. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Cherrill who lived at 1409 Elm St., died Wednesday in General Rose Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was 80.
Born in Carthage, Ill., on Sept. 18, 1886, he married the former Katherine Lee Rapp on Oct. 2, 1926. He was in the cattle trading business in Chicago, Omaha, Kansas City and Denver. He was also a Colorado rancher until retirement in 1962.
He was a lifetime member of Elks and a member of the Colorado Thoroughbred Breeders Assn. He was an Episcopalian.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is a daughter, Mrs. Virginia C. Martini of Santa Barbara, California.
Services for James Edward Cherrill, 80, of 1400 Elm St., were Saturday at olinger Mortuary, E. Colfax ave. and Magnolia St. Cremation followed.
Cherrill died Wednesday at Rose memorial Hospital.
In 1940, he and a partner, N.L. Harrison, Jr., bought the old Bob Bennie Ranch north of Limon, Colorado. they sold the ranch in 1962.
Survivors include his widow, Katherine, and a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Martini, Santa Barbara, California.
