| Birth: | Feb. 29, 1924 Riverhead Suffolk County New York, USA | | Death: | Jul. 16, 2001 Pinole Contra Costa County California, USA | My mother was the 3rd child born to George W. Turner Jr. and Gertrude E. Walker in RiverHead L.I. During the late 1920's her parent's moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. She had two older sisters Dorothy Turner-Day and Florence Turner- Wright. After graduating from Girls High School, she began working as an interpreter for the State Department during World War II helping refugees. My mother conversed in four languages: Spanish, French, Portugese and English. On October 18, 1952 she married my father John W. Corry Sr. They spent forty-nine faithful years together. She also had a deep felt love for the LORD and enjoyed giving him praise. While vacationing in California to visit her grandchildren, she collapsed one morning while preparing them breakfast. My mother was an unselfish, loving and compassionate person who is dearly missed by all who knew her. Yes, to know her was to love her.
