Chico Enterprise-Record, Chico, CA, Monday, May 21, 1984: "Thomas Killingsworth. GRIDLEY (E-R) -- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel for Thomas Alton Killingsworth, 52, of Paradise.
"He died Saturday in his Paradise home after a long illness.
"Killingsworth was born July 7, 1931 in Nelson. He had lived in Paradise for past six years, moving to the ridge from Durham. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
"Killingsworth was a sheet metal worker, and belonged to the sheet metal worker's union Local 162, Sacramento. He was also a member of the Western Bass Fishermen's Association.
"Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of Paradise; five sons, Barry, Rick, Wade and Mark Killingsworth, all of Durham, and Michael Helton of Stigler, OK; a daughter, Donna Helton of Paradise; his mother, Clara Belle Reeves of Paradise; three sisters, Gertrude Powers of Chico; Alberta Swanson of North Highland and Julia Clark of Oroville; and a brother, John Killingsworth of Durham.
"The Rev. Ray Moore of the Paradise Church of the Brethren will preside at the service. Burial will be in Gridley-Biggs District Cemetery.
"Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service Tuesday.
"The family prefers that any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society."
