Arthur E. Dahlstrom, aged 44 years, died suddenly Saturday night at 11:45 o'clock, following a heart attack. He was ill only about 30 minutes.

Mr. Dahlstrom was prominent in the Martinsburg community and had been manager of the W. H. France Lumber company there for the past 15 years. He had taken an active part in the war drives in Martinsburg, nearly always serving as chairman.

He was born in Keokuk county on December 18, 1898 and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dahlstrom, being the fourth child in a family of nine. His childhood was spent in the Thornburg community, and he was graduated from the Thornburg high school.

On December 24, 1923, he was united in marriage to Marie Sanchez, and they became the parents of three children. They had spent all of their 19 years of married life in or near Martinsburg.

Mr. Dahlstrom was a member of the Swedish Lutheran church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Woodman Lodge at Martinsburg, serving as treasurer of both organizations at the time of his death as well as a member of the town council and treasurer of the school district. He also was a member of the B. P. O. E.

Surviving are his wife; three children, Tereso Ann, Eric Arden and Knute Andrew; six sisters, Mrs. Ellen Fairfield of Muscatine, Mrs. Edith Shepherd and Mrs. Faye Moffat of Fremont; Mrs. Blanche Reinert of Delta; Mrs. Lillian Grady of Kalona and Mrs. Helen Moore of Gibson and one brother, Emil Dahlstrom of Gibson.

The funeral service was held at the home on Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Marcia Gonzales of Mystic. Burial was made in Mount Zion cemetery.
