Services for Robert William Beech Sr., 96, of Chardon Township, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St. (On Route 44, just south of Route 6/Chardon Square), Chardon Village.
Mr. Beech died Jan. 13, 2001, at Geauga Regional Hospital, Claridon Township.
Born Jan. 10, 1905, in Munson Township, he lived in Concord Township, before moving to Chardon Township in 1994.
He and his wife enjoyed fishing and camping for 20 years at Camp Hide-a-way Lakes in Ashtabula and Camp Kinissee's Grand River Camp in Geneva. From 1945-1965, he operated Beech Landscaping.
Mr. Beech was employed at the former Ohio Rubber Co., Willoughby, as a millwright, for 44 years, before retiring in 1970.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Bixler) Beech (to whom he was married 71 years) (July 27, 1999). His parents, Frank and Mary (Hathaway) Beech, are also deceased.
Elder Bill Lawrence of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Painesville, will officiate at the services. Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
