Korean War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Corporal in the United States Army in Company L, 7th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on September 6-7, 1951 at Chorwon, Korea. He was presented the CMOH on June 27, 1952 at The White House (Rose Garden) by Pres. Harry S. Truman.
