She was a sister of Robert Wright Fenton who was born about 1864 in Slains, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Isaballa McDonald Fenton was born March 4, 1864 (some records say she was born March 24, but that was the date her birth was filed) to Joseph Fenton and Margaret McDonald. Her name is simply Isabella Fenton on her birth record but Isabella McDonald Fenton on her marriage record.
She was among 12 known children born to the couple:
1. Robina Copeland Fenton b. 17 Jul 1851
2. Margaret Fenton (who later married Oscar Stewart-Wynne) b. 22 Jul 1853
3. Robert Wright Fenton (my husband's great-grandfather; who later married Margaret Smith Scott) b. 18 Jul 1855
4. William Ramsay Fenton (who later married Christina Stewart) b. 23 Aug 1857
5. Mary Ann Fenton (who later married John Macadam) b. 06 Oct 1859
6. Marjory Fenton b. 14 Nov 1861 d. 02 Mar 1865
7. Isabella (memorialized here)
8. James Fenton b. 04 May 1866
9. Christina Fenton (who later married Frederick Charles McPherson) b. 18 Jun 1868
10. Alexander Fenton (who later married Olive Eliza Brakspear) b. abt 1871
11. Elizabeth Fenton b. 1874
12. unnamed son born sometime before 1855

At the age of 17, in the 1881 Scottish census, she is recorded as being a domestic servant in Aberdeen.
Isabella had an illegitimate son named James Sherriffs Fenton (born in 1886, who appears to have been raised by Isabella's parents). Isabella isn't the only daughter to have an illegitimate child; her sister, Margaret had a son William Gillespie (father had same name) born 21 Jun 1875. In the 1891 census William is listed as a servant, living with his uncle, Robert Wright Fenton.

On 31 October 1896 she married Peter MacKay Lobban at St.Matthews Church in Surrey, England. An Alex Fenton, likely her brother, attended and witnessed.

She immigrated to Canada in 1905. In 1911, Isabella and her husband Peter are living in East Kingston, Ontario, Canada. They appear to be doing well as they have a domestic servant living with them.

Sadly, Peter died on 23 Apr 1913, aged 41 years old. He is memorialized on his parents' tombstone in Scotland. The tombstone reads:
