Margaret was the daughter of Alexander Smith Scott and Margaret Jaffray (sometimes spelled Jaffrey). Besides Margaret and Alexandrina, there were other children: James, William, Alexander and Jemmima.
Sadly, Margaret's twin, Alexandrina, died at the age of 12 from diptheria, after suffering for 15 days, on Feb. 10, 1871. She died in Bilbo Park, Logie Buchan, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The Bilbo Park home was the site of a happier occasion, when Margaret married Robert Wright Fenton on June 27, 1884.
Margaret and Robert had 10 children: Alexander, Margaret Jane, James Scott, Elizabeth "Minnie" (aka Lizzie), Robina Copland, William W., Robert Wright McDonald Fenton, Harry Stewart-Wynne, Mary Ann and Alice.
On June 12, 1911, Robert, his wife Margaret and some of their children left Scotland for Canada. The took the ship Saturnia from Glasgow, Scotland,, arriving in Quebec, Canada on June 12, 1911. The children that came with them were: Elizabeth (Lizzie), Robert Jr., Harry, Mary and Alice.
Robert and Margaret lived in Canada for the remainder of their lives.
Margaret died on February 28, 1934 in Pt. McNicoll, County of Simcoe, Canada. Her death certificate states her causes of death as arterio-sclerosis, hypertension & cerebral hemmorhage (contributory cause myocarditis).
Her husband, Robert, died only a few months later of throat cancer. He died on June 6, 1934 in Pt. McNicoll, Township of Tay, County of Simcoe, in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
