Ralph D. Hanway
Ralph Dale Hanway, 83, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at his home in Scottsbluff, Neb.
Ralph was born blind on May 2, 1927, at Broadwater, Neb., to Robert R. and Beryl (Paxton) Hanway. He lived in a center for the blind at Beatrice, Neb. for many years. He moved to Hebron, Neb., for a short time and then to Heritage Nursing Home in Bridgeport, Neb.
At this time in his life there was better technology. He had eye surgery and with his glasses he could see. This brought much pleasure to his life.
In 1983 Ralph moved to the Gering Scottsbluff, Neb., area and lived there until his death. He enjoyed fishing, car events, his own car collection, and music.
Memorial services were held Monday, Sept. 13, 2010 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Joe Peterson officiating. Cremation was at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Marlene, and Bill and Laura, of Loveland, Colo., Jack and Yvonne, and Babe and Carol, of Nampa. He is also survived by his sisters, Retha Holliday and Beverly Vaudrey, of Nampa, Darlene Coomes, of Provo, Utah, and sister and brother-in-law Carolyn (Ben) Collins, of Eagle.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Robert, Raymond, and Darrel, and sister Patricia Frain.
