A life long Nevada state native who engaged in the tire and oil business in Las Vegas before his entry into politics in 1934. He became a member of the State assembly 1936-1941, serving as speaker in 1939. Served as Nevada Democrat to the United States Senate from November 27, 1940 to December 6, 1942. Elected as Nevada Democrat Representative to the Seventy-ninth Congress and served from January 3, 1945 to January 3, 1947. After being a unsuccessful candidate for reelection he resigned and became a investment broker and president of a management equity company in Las Vegas where lived until his death.
