FREEMAN, CLIFFORD J 1930-2006. Born in Wapato, Wash on Oct 20, 1930 to Joe and Harriet Freeman, Cliff graduated from Ft Vancouver High School in 1948 and attended the University of Portland before serving in the US Navy on the USS Lofberg. He married Lorraine Simon in 1949 in Vancouver where they made their home and raised their family of seven children before moving to Woodburn in 2002. Cliff worked for 18 years at the Vancouver Alcoa plant, ending his career there as production manager. Subsequently he devoted himself to management and entrepreneurial endeavors in the forest products industry, notably with D&M Wood Products, Medford Corporation and Westwood/Schuler operations. Most recently he enjoyed his affiliation as consultant to Medallion Cabinetry, a division of Elkay. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved the game of golf as he did carpentry, woodworking, and gardening. In his early years he devoted a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to coaching in the Columbia Little and Heights Babe Ruth leagues. Cliff is survived by wife Lorraine of Woodburn; children Michael of Vancouver, Cynthia Harker of Klamath Falls, Robert of Vancouver, Charles of Keizer, Thomas of Vancouver, Suzanne Pettibone of Lake Stevens, Wash, and John of Salem; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Recitation of the rosary will be at 6 pm, Tuesday, Dec 26, at Cornwell Colonial Funeral Chapel, 390 N 2nd St, Woodburn. The funeral Mass will be 11 am, Wednesday Dec 27 at St Luke's Catholic Church, 417 Harrison St, Woodburn.
