Maria Anna Budde was the only child of Joseph and Maria Elisabeth Josephine Quatman Budde who was only 4 months old when both of her parents died of cholera. She originally was raised by her grandmother, Maria Anna Wente Quatman Drees and then lived in Ft. Loramie with her mother's oldest brother, Johann Heinrich and Maria Catherine Margaret Hinders Quatman who had no children. She married John Bernard Bruns 2/28/1867 and lived on the Bruns farm on Bruns Road. They had seven children before John Bernard died of cholera in 1882. On May 4, 1887, Maria married her farmhand, Frederick Friemering. They had one daughter who died at 28 months of age.
