Elias Morrow was born Oct 24th, 1822 in Warren County, TN to David Morrow and Jain (Merrill/Merrell) Morrow of North Carolina. Around 1822 he came to Merrelsville, MO in Marion County, MO (now Taylor, MO) with his parents and others in the Merrell family.
On March 14th, 1847 he married Charity Sarah Downing in Lewis County, MO. Elias and Charity had 11 children:

Elias recieved a land patent for a plot East of Deer Ridge in Lewis County, MO on June 1, 1848.
On April 14th, 1862, he joined the 69th Enrolled Missouri Militia (Union) during the civil war. He was a private in Co. L under Cpt Felix Scott, also of Deer Ridge. They were only active for 48 days of actual service.
He died on Jan 12, 1894 at the age of 71 and is buried in the Midway Cemetery located between Deer Ridge and Monticello, MO.
