Mrs. Helen Brod, 87, of Pasadena, former longtime Rosebud resident, died Friday, Sept. 28, in a Pasadena hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Saturday September 29 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon in the Hoelscher Funeral Chapel in Rosebud with Rev. Richard Crosson officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
Mrs. Brod was born April 10, 1903, in Taylor to Ozier and Amelia Roechler Easley. She was a graduate of Baylor University and taught school briefly before her marriage to Raymond Brod, longtime Rosebud banker and rancher. He preceded her in death on September 27, 1970.
Mrs. Brod was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rosebud where she served on the Board of Stewards for many years. She was a charter member of the Wednesday Study Club and former member of the Rosebud Garden Club while making her home in Rosebud. She moved to Pasadena in 1982.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Roy Casey of Pasadena: two grandsons, Keith Casey of Houston and Chris Casey of Huntsville; five sisters, Mary Lord of Chicago, Louise Bennett of Dallas, Edythe Hoelscher of Houston, Bess Easley and Dorothy Kasner, both of Rosebud.
Pallbearers were Keith Casey, Chris Casey, David Kasner, Don Kasner, Bruce Kasner, and Daniel Miller.
