Obituary provided by Shelli Steedman

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon from the family residence for Jefferson Walters, well-known West Side rancher, who died early yesterday afternoon at his home after a comparatively brief illness.

Jefferson Walters, son of David K. and Alice Walters, was born in Illinois, February 2, 1871, and at the time of his death was 51 years, four months and 28 days of age. When quite young, his parents moved to Grenola, Kansas, where he lived until he was about 18 years of age when he came to Ellensburg, where he has since resided.

He was married to Miss Helen Pease September 8, 1894 and to this union five children were born, George S. Walters, Martha E. Radford, Anna Fay and Marguerite, all of Ellensburg and Mollie S. Taylor of Redmond, Oregon, all of whom with his wife survive him. He also leaves seven grandchildren and three brothers, Hubbard Walters of Ness, Oregon, Will of Filer, Idaho, and David, of Yakima. There is one sister, Mrs. Nellie Pierce, of Twin Falls, Idaho.

At the time of his death he was a member of the Christian Church, also of the IOOF and Rebekah Lodges. The funeral will be held at the home on the West Side Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and will be conducted by the Rev. A. M. Williams of the Christian Church. The Odd Fellows will have charge of the services at the cemetery.
