| Birth: | Feb. 28, 1830 | | Death: | Feb. 25, 1901 |  Indian Mutiny Victoria Cross Medal Recipient. He served as a Captain in the 86th Regiment, Royal Irish Rifles. During the assault on the fort at Jhansi, India, on April 3, 1858, Captain Jerome, with the assistance of another soldier removed a severely wounded officer to safety under very heavy fire. For most prestigious gallantry, he was awarded the Victoria Cross Medal and went on to achieve the rank of Major General. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
