Ida Lou Ella Jones, 100, died Monday, October 10, 2011, at Oskaloosa Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born May 13, 1911, at Rose Hill, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Linnie Robbins Sarvis. She graduated from the Rose Hill High School with the class of 1928. She attended teacher training at William Penn College. Following school she worked as a stenographer at Ramsay Hatchery in Oskaloosa. She later taught in rural schools for five years. In 1935, she was united in marriage to Lee Rex Jones at Oskaloosa; he died April 6, 2000. In September of 1935, she took the position of Postmaster at the Rose Hill Post office. She retired from the post office in July of 1970. She continued to live in Rose Hill until moving to Oskaloosa in 1979. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa and was active in UMW and Christian Challenge One. She was also a member of the, Oskaloosa Women's Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a 60 plus year member of the National Association of Postmasters. LouElla Celebrated her 100th birthday on May 13, 2011, she was very proud of the fact that she had been alive for over a century.
Her family includes her daughter and her husband: Marilyn and Leland Krusemark of Oskaloosa; three great grandchildren: Curtis Krusemark, Christina(Roger)Yoder and Cailen Krusemark; four great great grandchildren: Michael and Wesley Krusemark, Lucas and Johnathon Yoder; a nephew; Donald(Delores)Main and a niece: Mary Ellen Garr.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson; Craig Krusemark; and two sisters: Dortha Van Polen and Freda Main.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011, at 1 pm in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Dwayne Poe Officiating. Burial will be in the Wymore Cemetery east of Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Thursday morning after 10 am in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present from 11 am until service time at 1 pm. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's disease and Related Disorders Association.
