LONG BRANCH -- Arthur Cook Sr., 78, of 171 Franklin Ave., died Monday in Monmouth Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born here, son of the late John and Cornelia Skillman Cook. During the 1930s he owned and operated the Cook Brothers Taxi Service here.
His wife was the late Jessie Brown Cook. Surviving are three sons, Arthur Cook Jr. of Neptune City, Harry K. Cook of Neptune and Lester V. Cook, here; six daughters, Mrs. Eva Tanner, Mrs. Clara Palmer, Mrs. Jean Willhelm, Mrs. Ethel Pulignano, Mrs. Florence Bourgoin and Mrs. Lois Toppins, all here; a sister, Mrs. Violet Covert of West Long Branch; 32 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Damiano Funeral Home with Rev. E. O. Megill officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, West Long Branch.
