Jacksonville, Fla, (AP)--Two Navy planes
collided in flight about 10 miles northeast
of Jacksonville Tuesday, and crashed, carrying
three persons to their deaths.
The Naval Air Station said the planes a TV-2 jet
trainer and an AD-6 Skyraider, a propellor driven
attack plane were engaged in training operations.
The Navy identified the Pilot of the Skyraider
as Lieutenant (j.g.) Charles Edward Reimer, 25,
Lakewood, Ohio. The two in the jet trainer were
identified as Lieutenant Bernard William Timmer,
35, Twin Lake, Michigan; and Lieutenant George
Amedee LeBlanc, 25, Jacksonville.

Weather permitting, a squadron of five planes
from Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Fla. will fly
here so its pilots and crews may attend the
funeral of Lt. Charles E. Reimer, naval flier.
The services will be at 3 p.m. today in Christ
Evangelical and Reformed Church. The fliers
will form a guard at the burial in Lake View
Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mandley
Funeral Home, 15480 Triskett Road, N.W.
Lt. Reimer was killed in an air collision on
September 27, at Jacksonville. He had been
in the service 39 months, and had just
returned from a world cruise aboard the
carrier, Midway.
He was a graduate of West High School and
of Baldwin-Wallace College in 1952.
Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Reimer, 11820 Edgewater Drive,
Lakewood.
