MUSCATINE, Iowa -- George Elwood Rick, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Lutheran Homes. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will be held in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Sycamore Baptist Church. Visitation for George will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. George Elwood Rick was born August 29, 1924, in Hesperia, Michigan, the son of George Essley and Rosina (Hagerman) Rick. On September 12, 1947, George was united in marriage to Ardis Y. Lowe in Iowa City, Iowa. They later divorced. George was employed at Kent Feeds for 36 years. He was a member of the Muscatine Moose Lodge and the Eagles. He attended the Sycamore Baptist Church for many years. George will be deeply missed by his son, George Edward Rick, Sr., of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Ron Rick, Kevin Rick, George Edward Rick, Jr. and Jason Rick; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Nathan, Zach, Jake, Ethan, Carly Mae, Salena, Matthew, Caleb, Jacob and Joshua; and two sisters, Mildred Kiene, of Davenport, and Hazel Stewert, of Atalissa. George was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Anna Schaefer Rick, and one son, Larry James Rick.
