Mike Cottrell, 87, died Monday
evening at the Muscatine Care
Center following an extended
illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Cottrell,
formerly of 312 W. 4th St., will be
held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the
Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home.
Officiating will be Rev. Richard
Mullen. Burial will be in Memorial
Park cemetery. Visitation will begin
at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home.
Mr. Cottrell was born Feb. 8, 1887,
in La Grange, Mo., the son of James
H. and Elizabeth Cottrell. He was a
resident of Muscatine for the past
67 years.
He married Daisy A. Henderson July
29, 1910, in Rock Island. He was a
member of the Muscatine Power Boat
Club and a retired employee of the
Puritan Ice Co.
Surviving are two sons, Paul A. and
Weldon (Jack), both of Muscatine;
three daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Helen)
Crow, Mrs. Clyde (LaVonn) Nelson
and Mrs. Jack (Betty) Bradley, all
of Muscatine; a sister, Grace
Massey of Tulsa, Okla.; five grand-
children; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, his wife, one brother and
a sister.
