J.C. was born in North Carolina 1828. He died in Jack County, Texas June 23 1902 at home of his son Dr. M. H. Longan. He was married in North Georgia in 1848. He spent 5 years in the gold fields of California. He was a Faithful soldier of the Lost Cause

Jack County Marriage licenses, Book 4, page 269 shows the following:
Miss Lawrence Stevenson married J.M. Logan on 1 September 1895 in Jack County, Texas. She preceded him in death.

Mattie Mae 1905 – 1995
Beulah 1907 – 1988

John, a retired farmer, had been living in Graham, TX five years before his death on March 5, 1960. His death was caused by a Cerebral Hemorrhage. He was 87 years old. His son, Lon Logan, was the informant on his death certificate. He was buried March 7.

"Son of John C Logan - Emma King
John Marion Logan married Miss Laura Stevenson on 1 September 1895 in the Finis Community at the home of her parents.
Services for John Marion Logan, 87, were held at Salem Methodist Church officiated by Rev. O.A. Morton, Rev. C.A. Manghum, pastor. Mr. Logan was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Logan moved to Texas with his parents in his early youth. He was a pioneer resident of the Finis Community. Mr. Logan was a retired farmer.
Survived by his wife; five sons - Melvern Logan, Lon Logan, Johnny Logan, William H. Logan, Oran Logan; three daughters - Mrs. Frank Polk, Mrs. A.B. Mays, Mrs. Herbert Manley; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.",/i
