| Birth: | Apr. 25, 1917 Makawao Maui County Hawaii, USA | | Death: | Aug. 26, 1992 Makawao Maui County Hawaii, USA |  World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Served as a Private First Class, C Company, 100th Battalion. On July 7, 1944 while stationed as a forward scout at Castellina, Italy he attacked a machine-gun nest, took a prisoner, then captured a house used as an observation post. Even being wounded, he continued to defend the position from being retaken by the Germans. Later, he spotted another machine-gun nest and opened fire, wounding two Germans and capturing the others. In a White House ceremony June 21, 2000, he received his posthumous award along with 21 other Asian American Veterans. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
