Connally was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Bryan to Collins Willard Brown and Mary Edna Shaw, and died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, of complications from Alzheimer's disease at Texhoma Christian Care Center in Wichita Falls. She grew up in Groesbeck, and was educated at Texas State College for Women in Denton and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, studying drama and English literature. Connally began modeling at age 9 for Neiman-Marcus in Dallas, and continued modeling intermittently until age 37. In 1945, Connally married Charles Price Connally of Brownwood, and they had four loving children - Daphne June, Charles Price, Dixon Linz and Samuel Brown. She shared her love of life with four granddaughters, Monica June Horton and Tana Kay Hilley of Wichita Falls, and Jennifer Faye Connally and Dixanne Linze Connally of Tyler; and six great-grandsons, Sawyer Chad and Ethan Michael Horton, Dalton Price and Jarrett David Hilley, and Slade Oliver and Dane Dixon Connally. She enjoyed theatre, symphonies, poetry, and sunsets, but was never happier than when surrounded by her children. Granddaughters will recall her joi de vivre while hosting "Glo Glo's Summer Camp." Connally published her first book of poetry, "Life's a Threading of Gray Lace," in 2000, which she "dedicated to the loved ones who inspired me."
She was preceded in death by brother C.W. "Buddy" Brown III.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76308. Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home of Wichita Falls was in charge of arrangements.
