Mrs. Evan, 85, of Plainview, a former area farm homemaker, died Wednesday morning (Jan. 28, 1998) at her home.
Florence E. Selke was born Oct. 11, 1912, in Richmond, Winona County, and attended an are country school. On Oct. 10, 1931, she married Ivan M. Evans in Winona. They farmed in Little Valley south of Plainview until 1959, when they retired and moved to Plainview. Her husband died May 16, 1978. Mrs. Evans was a past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge in Plainview.
Survivers include a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Carol) Graner of Plainview; a son, Archie of Eyota; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Evelyn Heddlesten of Plainview, and Laura Kearns, Alice Morphew and Myrtle Denzer, all of Winona. A brother Leon Selke and a sister Luella (Selke) Overing preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
