William is the son of Earnest B Sampson and Topsy Tubbs Sampson.

William R Sampson age 76 of Canton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011. He was born on June 6, 1935 in Mead, Oklahoma. He worked for Harrison Paint for 35 years, retiring in 1995. William's hobbies included working on cars and fishing. He is preceded in deth by his parents; wife, Geneva Sampson; three daughters, Mariea Swinehart, Brenda Lee Balough and Virginia Sampson; and brother, Jimmie Sampson. Survivors include his five grandchildren, Randy (Amy) Swinehart, William D Swinehart, Jessica (Michael) Weaver, Stephanie Jamison and Matthew (Linda) Swinehart; six great grandchildren, Alexander, Anderson, Tyler, Stephen, Alexis and Cameron; niece, Karen Sue (Paul) Bracken; two sons-in-laws, Russell Sweitzer II and Tim Balough; best friend, Joe (sommer) Mayberry; friend, Skip; and all his friends at Perry Tire. The family would like to give a special thank you to Aultman Hospice for their great care and support. Calling hours will be Friday, October 7, from 6-8pm at the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel. A service will be held Saturday, October 8, at 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
