Birth: Aug. 18, 1807
East Hanover
Lebanon County
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Dec. 26, 1888
Harper Tavern
Lebanon County
Pennsylvania, USA

Son of Johan Philip "John" and Maria Elizabeth (Shuey) Gerberich, married Eleanor Albertdal, October 16, 1831, Harper Tavern, East Hanover Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.

Born on the old homestead in East Hanover Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.
Farmer; Lebanon County Commissioner; school director.

Lutheran; one of the founders of Zion's Church in Jonestown, leader of the choir, superintendent of the Sabbath School, and treasurer of the church funds.
George was born on the old homestead in East Hanover Twp., Lebanon Co., Pa., and was brought up on the farm. He was married in the house where he died more than half a century later, about a mile west of Harpers Tavern along the Jonestown Road, to Eleanor Albertdal, better known to her many friends as Nelly Albert. She was born on the same farm where all her children were born, about one mile east of Harpers. After farming there for thirty-nine years they moved back to the farm on which they had been married, in the year 1870, and both died at that place. Both were buried in the cemetery at Zion's Church, of which church he was one of the founders. His death was due to internal injuries inflicted in a runaway. In his youth he had united with the Lutheran Church in Jonestown, and was deeply religious by nature. He was for this reason known locally as "Sonntags-George" (Sunday-George). None of the family took a greater interest in preserving the old relationship records and traditions, many of which he related to the historian forty years ago.-1925
