Mary Jane Morgan was a businesswoman, who had a millinery shop in Hopkins County. She married Alfred Henry Jones, Sr, a widower with five young children, on November 25, 1903, in Evansville, Indiana. Alfred, himself died five years later, and the three youngest children were taken to the Odd Fellows Home in Lexington, KY. The 2 older boys were 17 and 15, and did not go to the home. The 1910 Census, which shows her living with son, Alfred H Jones, Jr in Barnsley, says she is the mother of one child, none living, but Alfred, Jr is her stepson. I learned on 3/31/2013, that she is the mother of Baby Mary Jane Jones, buried with Alfred, Sr and Annie W Jones, his first wife.
She was the daughter of William Richard Morgan, a coal miner/farmer from Wales, and Sarah Elizabeth Fugate from Tennessee.
