He was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-eighth Congress, representing Pennsylvania's 14th district, and served from 1923 to 1925. He failed in his bid for a second term. Croll was born in Upper Macungie Township, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Eastman Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York. For much of his life he was engaged in retail and banking pursuits in his home state. From 1909 to 1912 he was treasurer of Berks County, and from 1913 to 1918 he served as a naval officer at the port of Philadelphia. He was also a delegate to the 1912 and 1920 Democratic National Conventions. Croll died in Reading, where most of his business ventures were based. (bio by: Bobb Edwards)
