Business Magnate. He was the founder of the Yasuda Financial Group. His Yasuda Bank was the predecessor to what became the Fuji Bank. Among his many philanthropic accomplishments, he donated the Yasuda Auditorium on the Hongo campus of the University of Tokyo. He was assassinated by Heigo Asahi, a member of the "Righteousnes Corps of the Divine Land," as an expression of anticapitalism after he declined to make a cash donation. Yasuda is honored by a prominent statue in the financial district of Toyama city, his hometown.
