| Birth: | Feb. 19, 1850 Saint Albans Franklin County Vermont, USA | | Death: | Apr. 4, 1878 Mescalero Otero County New Mexico, USA |  Western Rancher and Lawman. On March 1, 1878, at the beginning of the Lincoln County War, New Mexico, he was appointed constable by the Magistrate. His group known as “The Regulators” included Billy the Kid and other deputies. There purpose was serving arrest warrants to members of the Dolan Gang for the ambush and murder of John Tunstall. On April 4, 1878, he led the Regulators to Blazer's Mills to eat. While they were there, Buckshot Roberts, a man they held a warrant for, arrived and a wild gunfight ensued. During the gunfight two Regulators were wounded and one killed. Constable Brewer received a fatal wound from Buckshot Roberts who died also the next day from his wounds. Constable Dick Brewer and Buckshot Roberts were buried side by side.
