US Congressman. Served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Elected to represent Texas's 5th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1879 to 1883. Also served as a Delegate to the Texas State Constitutional Convention in 1866, and Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1866.
