Rosa "Rosie" Lee "Pearl" Reed was the daughter of the famous outlaw, Myra Maybelle Shirley aka "Belle Starr" and James "Jim" Reed also an outlaw. She was also known as the daughter of Thomas Coleman "Cole" Younger and often used the last name of Younger.
She was married four times and had 4 children: (1) Charles Kaigler, one daughter Ruth D. Kaigler; (2) Robert McClure, one daughter: Mamie McClure who was adopted by Mr. & Mrs. David Epple of Newton KS; they named her Flossie Pearl Epple; (3) Count Arthur E. Erbach, one son E. Erback who died as an infant and is buried at Oak Cemetery, Fort Smith, AR; (4) Dell Andrews, one daughter Jenette Steele Andrews Vignolo.
"Pearl" had one brother: James Edwin "Eddie" Reed [name is in dispute, some sources say his name was Edwin Benton Reed]. Eddie spurned Pearl when he learned she had worked as a prostitute to earn money for his release from prison.
Pearl had her mother, Belle Starr's tombstone engraved with her mother's favorite mare "Venus" and had written a 4-line poem that says: "Shed not for the bitter tear, nor give the heart to vain regret, Tis but a casket that lies here, the gem that filled it sparkles yet."
She had lived at Younger's Bend in OK with her brother Eddie; when Eddie went to prison, she earned her living by being a prostitute in brothels in Fort Smith and Van Buren, AR.
She died quietly in Douglas, AZ, with no one knowing who she was.
