Dorothy Hennessy Morris, 91, of Bay City passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Bay City. She was born February 16, 1920, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, to the late John Henry and Juna "Junie" Corn Goates. Dorothy has been a life long resident of Matagorda County, a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City, Eastern Star, Paul Harris Fellow, and Flora Luncheon Study Club.
She is survived by: her daughter, Rhonda Broussard and husband Kent of Bay City; daughter-in-law, Jade Hennessey of Bay City; seven grandchildren, Kip, Troy, Wendy, Lyia, Laurie, Lynne, and Leanne; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband, Howard Travis Hennessy; second husband, C. L. Morris; son, Jimmy Howard Hennessy; five sisters; and two brothers.
The family received visitors from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Cedarvale Cemetery with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
