                Carl Cole Dies Of Long Illness

Funeral services for Carl Fountain Cole, 74, of 311 Ellison Ave. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Stanaford Church of Christ by the Rev. T. M. Waldron and Evangelist Elgie Thompson. Burial will be in the Stanaford Cemetery.

Cole died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday in a local hospital after a six-year illness.

A retired coal miner from the Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates at Eccles, he was a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local 5770.

Born in Raleigh County Sept. 6, 1886, he was a son of the late Ballard and Virginia Bailey Cole. He was a member of the Warden Church of Christ.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ora Patrick Cole; the following children are by a former marriage, five sons, Hubert of Williamsburg, Va., John H. of Glen Ferris, Carlton, Paul, and Thomas, all of Beaver; three daughters, Mrs. Merle Riner of Raleigh, Mrs. Sereta Snead of Deposit, N.Y., and Mrs. Hila Rowalczyk of Hartford, Conn.; three brothers, Toy of Hico, Lon and Pierce, both of Ramsey; and two sisters, Miss Annie Cole of Lanark and Mrs. Clara Guilliams of Stanaford.

The body will remain at the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home until the funeral home.
