US Congressman. Elected to represent Indiana's 2nd District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1897 to 1905, being defeated in 1904. Also served as a Member of the Indiana State House of Representatives in 1879, and was Circuit Judge in 1885, 1890 to 1896, and 1914 to 1920.
