Karen Renee Kendall was the only child of Shirley Mae Entzian Kendall and William Raymond Kendall. She was the great grand daughter of Joseph Maier, one of the founders of First Lutheran Church of Bowie. Karen was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alexandria, VA and was confirmed at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Springfield, VA.
Karen graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA in 1979. Following her graduation she attended George Mason University where she graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Science. She took additional graduate level courses. Karen worked as a professional Logistician supporting the Department of the Navy. She first worked for Navy support contractors and then became a Federal Navy employee in 1999. She served as a dedicated and professional logistician supporting the Navy and eht Department of Defense for more than 25 years.
Growing up, Karen enjoyed spending time with her cousins, aunts and uncles on her grandmother's farm in Mitchellville, MD. There were always plenty of cats to play with on the farm. Maybe that's where Karen's love of cats began.
Along with her cats, Karen had a passion for collecting penguin figurines and memorabilia. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and identifying birds that visited the window feeders she placed outside her home. Karen and Bob were married. They enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake, taking Caribbean vacation cruises and spending time with close friends and family.
Karen and Bob were inseparable partners since first meeting on July 4th 1994. She will be lovingly missed by her family and friends.
