Janet S.Finchum Cooper, 61, of Gulfport, died Jan. 28, 2001 at Bayfront Medical Center. She came here in 2000 from her native Muncie, Ind. She retired last year after 20 years as a secretary in the biology department at Ball State University in Muncie. She was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union and Beta Sigma Phi sorority Preceptor Alpha Kappa Chapter. Janet was active for several missions in Muncie. She attended Gulfport Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Scott Cooper, Muncie; a daughter, Leslie Puckett, Gulfport; a brother, Jack (Rosanna) Finchum, Muncie; two sisters, Betty (Joseph) Slaven, Muncie, and Peggy (Gilbert) Luna, Patogonia, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
