Funeral services were held at the Parsons Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, March 2 for Mrs. Bertie M. Ricker who passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 27. The Rev. Leonard Morrison, local Christian minister and the Rev. Paul Kienholz of Wakita officiating.

Music was presented by Mrs. Byron Meador, organist and Edna Smith and Elsie Bollman, who sang "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordan Alone."

Pallbearers were W.E. Hern, I.L. Frank, L.M. Smith, Paul Eslinger, K.W. Clinesmith and Claude McDowell.

Interment was made in the Forest Park Cemetery.

Bertie M., daughter of A.M. and Mary McMahan, was born July 21, 1884 at Sevierville, Tenn., and departed this life at Anthony, Kansas, February 27, 1957.

She was united in marriage to David C. Ball at Sevierville, Tenn., in 1903. They moved to Oklahoma in 1904 locating near Guthrie, where they lived until the death of her husband, June 14, 1914. To this union five children were born: Elizabeth L., Clifford, Opal, Chester and Lawrence.

On September 14, 1918 she was united in marriage to George W. Ricker at Wakita, Okla. To this union two children were born: George Jr., and Edna Maye.

At an early age she united with the Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing three sons: Clifford Ball of the home; Lawrence Ball of Wichita and George Ricker, Jr., of Wakita; three daughters, Elizabeth L. Roy of Wichita, Opal Ball of Wakita, and Edna Maye Cambron of Wakita; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Robert Ball of Sevierville, Tenn; two brothers, Otha McMahan, Sevierville, Tenn.; and Charlie McMahan of Oakridge, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by one son, Chester Ball, who passed away in May of 1953.
