Mrs. Dine Carter Jr. of Blair was so terribly burned by a kerosene explosion that she died.
Funeral Of Fire Victims
Funeral of Mrs. Dine Carter, Jr. and baby was held from the Church of Latter Day Saints Thursday at 10 a.m. The little edifice was packed with hundreds of friends and many sat outside the church and listen to the words of comfort from the lips of the elders who preached the funeral sermon.
Mrs. Dine Carter, nee, Miss Katie King, was born in Tekamah December 21, 1892 and married Mr. Carter at Logan, Iowa three years ago. They lost their first born, Sylvia, in March a year ago. Mrs. Carter is survived by her father and mother, Mr. And Mrs. W. H. King of Walthill; five brothers, Walter of Tekamah; Fay, Clarence, Barney and James who at home. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery and the bodies were followed to their last resting place by a large number of sympathizing friends and surviving relatives.
Elder Paul Craig conducted the funeral services and the pallbearers were six nephews of Mr. Carter, Messrs. John Compton Jr., John Boston Jr., Edw. Stricklett, Mark Bilyue, Malcom Boston, and Harry Ervey.
