He was born Dec. 15, 1922 in Danville to Carl T. and Edith Logan Deeken. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. He married Hazel Robertson on Oct. 22, 1944 in Dearborn, Michigan. She survives.
Also surviving are a son, Larry Deeken of Gurnee; a daughter, Toni Lawson of Danville; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and a brother, Robert Deeken of Danville.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was involved in the Battle of Okinawa.
