Wife of Martin

Campbell, Mrs. Martin - The death of Mrs. Martin Campbell occurred at 5:50 o’clock last evening at her late home in Colfax. She had been an invalid for three years and her demise was caused by a complication of diseases. Deceased was born in Lauramie township, February 18, 1836, and was the oldest daughter of John and Rachel Cameron. Her father was the first cousin of Senator Cameron, of Pennsylvania. She was married on May 15, 1851, to Martin Campbell, who survives. She was a woman of pure and noble character, and was admired by all who knew her. The deceased has been a member of the Dunkard church for over forty years. The following children survive: D. C. Campbell, of Colfax; Dr. William S. Campbell, of West Point; A. B. Campbell of Pittsburgh, Kansas; Mrs. B. F. Harter, of Chicago; Mrs. E. M. Wolfe, of Pittsburgh, Kansas; Mrs. Osborn Storms, of Watseka, Ill.; R. M. Campbell, of West Point, and Mrs. Grant Cook, of Colfax. The funeral cortege will leave the family residence on Monday morning at 9:30 o’clock, and the body will be taken to the White church, near Colfax, where the last services will be held.
