George was born in Alvin and lived there all of his life, until he enlisted in the Marines.
Upon arriving in Vietnam 25 June 1968, George was assigned to Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment,1st Marine Division.
George died as a result of hostile gunshot wounds to the body from hostile small arms fire, 3 kilometers southwest of Liberty Bridge, during Operation Mameluke Operation II.
Survived by his parents, George A, Sr and Jo L Alford and sister, Lesa Ann all of Alvin, Texas.
